Childwall Triangle – Update

Our councillors, Lord Storey and Pat Maloney, are pleased to update residents on the plans for road changes at the Childwall Triangle and nearby streets.
This is their letter to residents:
                                       Re: Childwall Triangle
Dear Resident,
Well, we did it!
Liverpool City Council are not proceeding with their proposals for the Childwall Triangle.
This would have seen the Triangle at the end of Childwall Park Avenue blocked off, to make all of Childwall Priory Road ‘Two Way’ for traffic, to remove trees, to reduce the car parking and to stop traffic traversing the whole of Dunbabin Road.
Despite an inadequate consultation process, this is a great victory for residents who contacted us with their objections, who wrote to the council, who attended the consultation meeting at Hope University. A big thank-you to everyone.
We would still like to see some minor changes at the Triangle
More car parking spaces by diagonal parking.
A designated Parking Bay for unloading
A designated Disabled Parking space
Narrowing the turning into Dunbabin from Taggart Avenue.
Improved drainage to stop flooding on the pavements.
Safe crossing places for pedestrians.

If you have any thoughts on improving the Triangle, do let us know.

With best wishes,
Mike             Pat
