SCRA Committee Roles – October 25/26
 
Chair
  • To call and lead committee meetings and an annual AGM.
  • To oversee the activities of the group, the membership and expenditure.
  • To represent the group externally and to answer and initiate correspondence with members and other organisations.
  • To support other committee members in their roles when needed and ensure that the Residents Association monitors the needs of the community and responds to those.
  • To ensure that the aims of the Residents Association are at the heart of all activities and that the running of the association is done in an open and transparent manner.
Vice Chair
  • To stand in for the chair at committee meetings and at other events, if necessary, and to take on any duties designated by the chair.
  • To accompany the chair to meetings outside the Residents Association when appropriate and to help with decision-making.
  • To support the chair in overseeing the running of the Association and to be vigilant for funding opportunities that might be relevant.
Secretary
  • To make arrangements for committee and general meetings.
  • Keep formal records of meetings including agendas and minutes.
  • To circulate minutes to other trustees as soon as possible after the committee meeting.
  • To attend meetings with or without the chair or vice-chair.
  • To answer or initiate correspondence when appropriate.
Treasurer
  • To engage in financial planning and budgeting on behalf of the association.
  • To be responsible for banking, book keeping and record keeping for the association, and the finances of Childwall All Together.
  • To receive and record income and draw up payments for goods or services for the association.
  • To present accounts to the members at each AGM.
  • To instigate funding applications when available.
Membership Secretary
  • To email forms to potential new members.
  • To remind members of their renewal date.
  • Receive money from new and renewing members, and to email receipts.
  • To keep a comprehensive list of members, sums paid and when renewed. .
Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator
  • To attend Neighbourhood Watch meetings, and relay information to the SRA Trustees.
  • To assist the Police Liaison Secretary when necessary.
Police Liaison Coordinator
  • To organise meetings with Community Police and members.
  • To present residents concerns to the police.
  • To answer police related questions asked by members on the WhatsApp group or by email
  • To represent SCRA members at local police related forums.
Community Liaison Secretary
  • To connect with other local groups and organisations and report back to the SCRA committee.
  • To represent SCRA to other groups and organisations in the absence of other committee members, with the aim of creating a connected network of organisations within Childwall.
Residents WhatsApp Secretary
  • To welcome new members to the Residents WhatsApp group and inform them of the ‘rules’ of the group.
  • To monitor posts, ensuring the group maintains a supportive apolitical ethos. Any possible offensive posts to be discussed with the chair.
  • To contact the member responsible for any posts that do not sit well within the group and ask them to remove their post.
  • To delete any posts that do not fit in with the ethos of the group.
Website Coordinator
  • To add new pages and relevant information to support the running of community groups in the area.
  • To update the ‘upcoming events’ page monthly or when required.
  • To liaise with other organisations to publicise events for the community.
Safeguarding Officer
  • The named person on the Safeguarding Policies for Adults and Children
  • To oversee any activities where a risk assessment is required and initiate that assessment.
  • To share the risk assessment with the committee and other associated individuals.
Crafting Lead
  • To promote crafting skills to create hand-made, desirable article for worthy charities
  • To encourage socialisation and improve wellbeing amongst members
  • To organise outings and events to bring members together and create a sense of belonging.
None Trustee Volunteer Role – Assistant Membership Secretary
  • To relay membership fees and forms to the Membership Secretary
  • To create membership packs and deliver them to new members.
